"America's Pivot to Asia: A Tilt Towards Taiwan, Too?"

by guest speaker, retired veteran American diplomat Morton Holbrook III

Hear more about the important and interesting topic of America's recent "pivot" towards Asia, covering current and future U.S. relations with Taiwan, China and Asia at large, including "hot spots" like the South China Sea.

Morton Holbrook III was a career US diplomat (Foreign Service Officer) from 1975 to 2007, and a professor at a college in China from 2007 to 2012. His broad career postings have included the American Embassy's Chinese Language School in Taichung; Economic Officer at the former US Embassy in Taipei 1977-78; US Embassy in Beijing 1979-1982; US Consul General, US Consulate in Shenyang; US Embassy in Tokyo; US Embassy in Manila; US Consulate in Hong Kong; and the US Mission to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris. More recently, he served as a professor and founder of the Government and International Relations program at United International College (UIC) in Zhuhai, China.
